Northern Ireland Science Park is a place for Science, Technology and Business to converge, the best location to take on the global market-place.

CanteenBusinesses may range from Associates, with “drop in” rights on a four point scale to use the common facilities including the wireless internet, through to full lease-hold Tenants, who may occupy anything from 500 sq. ft to whole buildings. Full tenants must pass through a “gateway” process. Past tenants are invited automatically to retain Associate level but all companies interested in the work of the Science Park and which may benefit from its facilities and networks are welcome to apply.

Converting Science into Business is a “People Process”. It does not happen without Product Champions, Creative Marketers, Adventurous Financial Backers and Great Business Leaders. Northern Ireland Science Park aims to be a place where such people can meet, work and be encouraged to take their ideas to the world. Individuals are welcome to apply for membership at a range of levels from bronze (wholly virtual with no defined space but able to work in common areas), to platinum, a defined desk in one of the designated areas in a NISP building or in ECIT.

NISP operates two networks of successful business people: halo, the Business Angel Network in Northern Ireland and Springboard, a collection of business mentors for young firms. Participants in both networks are automatically invited to be virtual desk-level members of NISP.

NISP is host to over 100 open events  each year, most in the direct pursuit of its mission and all are welcome to enjoy the learning and networking experience.

Thompson Dock

The site of the Science Park is steeped in the history of industrial Belfast. Pedestrian visitors are welcome to enjoy the public realm of the Thompson and Alexandra Dry Docks including the optional guided tour of the Pump-House, including audio visual. Public toilets are available and further facilities are planned for 2008.
