halo Matching Process
A brief description of the process and how it works.
halo works on a confidential registration basis. All investors and companies pre-register and provide us with specific information and assurances.
Investors have immediate access to ambitious companies with growth potential. These investment opportunities come from NISP Connect, from our partners and from other sources.
Businesses know that details of their particular investment opportunity will be seen by people who are actively looking to invest in private companies. These investors bring business experience in addition to the financial resources that they may invest.
Our matching activity is largely conducted in the following manner:
- Companies apply and are filtered and if necessary provided with further assistance
- Selected companies are prepared to pitch at halo investor meetings
- At these meetings pitches are presented in a structure which allows for significant interaction between the companies and the investors
- In the final session of the evening, each company has its own table and angels, who have just seen their pitch, are able to come and meet the company and discuss their interest
- Afterwards halo ensures that all contacts are followed up and also encourages the formation of ad-hoc syndicate groups of angels to invest
- More detailed meeting may ensure which can lead to investment being made
In addition to the 5 investment meetings during the year, halo also matches some companies to particular angels. This matching is usually done on the basis of more specialised needs. Once introduced, the rest of the process is similar to that outlined above.
The halo website contains the recent company pitches in the form of both video and Powerpoint. This is accessed by angels who have perhaps missed a particular meeting and also on occasions is used to introduce further partners to a company's pitch. This site is both secure and private.
