ENTERPRISE FORUM: “BIG DATA: BIG BUBBLE?”
Mobile Monday and NISP CONNECT Enterprise Forum Presents:
“Big Data: Big Bubble?”
The dawn of the 1-zettadollar revenue industry
The Economist reported recently that the amount of digital data worldwide was exploding, with a staggering 1.8 zettabytes in 2011 (that’s 1021 bytes or 1,000 billion gigabytes!); a lot of data, rightly called ‘Big Data’.
Market Research firm IDC forecast in its March 2012 report that the BD market would grow from $3.2 billion in 2010 to $16.9 billion in 2015, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 40% or about 7 times that of the overall information and communications technology market!
Deloitte has recently predicted that “Big data’s potential is likely to pivot on context: when organisations recognise that big data’s ultimate value lies in generating higher quality insights that enable better decision making, interest and revenues should accelerate sharply.”
NISP Connect and MobileMonday Belfast have assembled a panel of Big Data experts who will show you the implications of this digital tsunami in selected industry sectors: Security, Healthcare, Telecoms, Finance and Security.
You are invited to this special event on 19th September 2012 at the Northern Ireland Science Park.
