The Carbon Trust is an independent not-for-profit company set up by government with support from business. Our mission is to accelerate the move to a low carbon economy by developing commercial low carbon technologies and helping organisations reduce their carbon emissions.

We are focused on reducing carbon emissions in the short and medium term through energy efficiency and carbon management and in the medium and long-term through investment in low carbon technologies.

The Carbon Trust aims to deliver best practice programmes to inform and influence behaviour and to build skills and resources. We offer businesses free, authoritative and impartial energy management advice including on-site energy surveys and interest-free financing of between £5k and £400k for the implementation of energy efficiency projects.

We also offer R&D grant and financial support to businesses for the development of a UK industry sector that capitalises on the innovation and commercial value of low carbon technologies.
