Aetopia

Aetopia is a start-up ICT company that specialises in building software solutions for Digital Asset Management (DAM). Its core product, MediaBase, is a powerful technology for the storage, indexing, retrieval and presentation of diverse types of digital assets such as images, audio or video files.

Aetopia builds market-specific software applications on MediaBase.

Its primary focus initially is on solutions for the management and sale of digital assets, such as image management, picture sales, media syndication, and digital archive systems for museums and libraries.

In November 2006, the company won the Belfast heat of the InterTradeIreland Seedcorn competition for the best new businesses on the Island of Ireland. Key customers so far include the Irish Times, Independent News and Media, The Irish News, Belfast Media Group, The Public Records Office for N. Ireland and The Ulster Museum (all Irish) and Wegener Newspapers (Holland).
