Since the Leadership Summit in May the response to our Manifesto for Connected Health has exceeded all expectations – particularly the comprehensive and inter-linked framework of Governance, Engagement, Procurement and Implementation to accelerate the development of Connected Health markets and practice.
Welcome to New Alliance Partners:
ADI - Advanced Digital Institute – based in Yorkshire, England
CIMIT – Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology – based in Boston
Partnering Agreement between ECHCampus and Continua Alliance formally approved.
In addition to the joint eHealth Week events planned for w/c June 14 2010 we are now able to develop a plan for the joint project envisaged by the Governance Work-stream - to develop governance principles and guidelines for a wide range of Connected Health Trials and Implementations.
We also welcome…..
organisations from across Europe who helped put together our bid for the EU Thematic Network for Connected Health Procurement. This bid very narrowly failed to qualify but we are keen to see the Procurement work-stream forge ahead – so new proposals will shortly be distributed to ECHCampus members and partners for consultation.
2010 European Connected Health Awards
This is the first project from the Engagement Work-Stream. The outline programme is now being circulated to members of the International Advisory Panel for comment ahead of sponsorship marketing and then a media launch in late September.
The plan (subject to approval) is that the first round of judging will be completed in time for finalists to be announced during eHealth week -14th June 2010. The winners will be announced at a major event in Brussels in early November 2010.
New Projects
Proposals are in the pipeline for three new projects.
‘Dialogues and Disconnects’, from the Engagement Work-Stream, is a survey to better understand those areas of healthcare and society where Connected Health development is held back by lack of engagement.
‘CH Activity Index’, from the Implementation Work-Stream, plans to define the metrics needed to track Connected Health projects – the long term aim being to provide a major reference source across a wide range of Connected Health implementations.
‘Member Services’ is a core project to upgrade the website and introduce new forums.
AND FINALLY…
our internal Strategic Review reconfirmed the core mission and the value of the structure adopted in the manifesto.
The review also highlighted the need for more consultation between members and partners, and identified the core funding requirement of €3.5m over 5 years.
This funding will need to be derived from project surpluses, member subscriptions or additional investment/sponsorship. The International Advisory Panel will further review the programmes and priorities in October. |
